Felix Wong, Secretary & Webmaster
Felix Wong has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Stanford University, and an MBA and Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. He is the founder of Horsetooth Design LLC. He also has served on the Board of Directors for the Fort Collins Running Club and is the Chief Organizer of Spanish, French, and Mandarin conversation groups in Fort Collins. While not doing manic engineering or marathon running in different U.S. states, he enjoys engaging in different cultures and traveling the world.
Julia Weatherhead, Advisor
Julia Weatherhead is a Materials Technician at the Medical Center of the Rockies. She enjoys spending time with family and committing time helping the MiHEC organization. In her spare time she enjoys song writing and rap singing.
Kate Colby, Treasurer
Board member Kate Colby recently moved to Loveland after retiring from work as a realtor and a radio newscaster in southern Colorado. She also has a background in international relations, having served as Director of an International Visitors Council in San Diego, and as a Board member with Sister City organizations, fostering exchanges with Argentina and Russia. She also hosted a German exchange student in her home.
Kate is fluent in French, having studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, before completing her BA degree at Sonoma State University, with a major in French and a minor in Journalism. Besides extensive experience in small business management, Kate is especially fond of the arts. She has used her singing and dancing skills to participate in a variety of musical theater productions. She has also worked with an artists’ coop, where she represented her brother’s photographic art and sold her own jewelry creations.
Pitshou Nkwa Mossejou, DRC Coordinator & Representative of MiHEC
Pitshou has degrees in marketing and economics from the University of Kinshasa. He is a Branch Supervisor of the General Delegation of the Government in charge of liaison with MONUSCO, the UN’s current peacekeeping mission in the DRC.
Roque Cashier, Advisor

Roque works at the Medical Center of the Rockies. He joined MiHEC’s Board of Directors in February 2019.
Stephen K. Johnson, Vice-President
Stephen Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in General Biology from Northern Arizona University in 1992. He then moved to Colorado, where he earned a Masters of Science degree in Fishery Biology from Colorado State University in 1998. He works as a member of a Business Networking Group in Northen Colorado.
Tina Salumu, Founder & President
Tina Salumu is a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Tina holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Law from People’s Friendship University of Moscow (Russia). She also earned a Masters of Science in Criminal justice from Colorado Technical University (USA). In addition to English, Tina speaks French, Russian, Swahili and Lingala. She and her husband Ben raise three children and currently live in Colorado.
Tina is an active community-oriented person. She frequently travels to her home-country where she is involved in humanitarian activities.

Monica Rasmussen, Advisor
Monica A Rasmussen is a first generation American of European extraction. She has previously been a volunteer for 5 years in the therapeutic riding industry, which included working with children and adults, horse training and student teaching. She volunteers every year at a yoga festival. In May 2015, Monica completed a bachelor’s degree in French. She also has a BFA in Art.
Valerie Fox, Program Director
Valerie Fox is a mother of two beautiful daughters Olivia and Delaney. She has been a successful hair stylist since 1999 and is currently managing a salon in Fort Collins. She has volunteered for St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research and for the Locks for Love Organization. When she is not hanging out with her family Valerie enjoys spending time outdoors and reading.
